The relationship between the band gap and the "threshold" bias voltage for current.

Dear Nick Papior,

Does the (threshold bias voltage)*e equals to the band gap? or They are just in a positive correlationship. In my calculation, when the the bias is smaller than the gap, there is already very very small current passing through. Many thanks~!
