Hi Nick,

Shutter is written in perl so there is no need to build anything, but you have to install some dependencies in order to run Shutter on Fedora 8. There was a similar request via E-Mail in the last days and we managed to get Shutter running on Fedora 8.
Here are some instructions where to start:

You can find the sources tree (bazaar branch) here at our launchpad.net
project site:
https://code.launchpad.net/shutter

In most cases you want to check out the stable branch:
bzr branch lp:shutter (you need to have bzr installed)

There are stable tarballs as well available at the project blog:
http://shutter-project.org/wp-content/uploads/releases/tars/

We don't have the time (and the knowledge) to build packages for every
possible distro out there, but we are glad to add any links to our site:
http://shutter-project.org/downloads/

IMPORTANT:
If you are interested in the latest bazaar snapshot or you want to use
the tar.gz archives to get Shutter running on your system, please make
sure you meet the dependencies (the name of the packages may differ),
see:
http://shutter-project.org/downloads/#dependencies

I know it can be a hazzle to install all those dependencies manually ;-)

Please let me know if you need any further assistance and attach the
horrible error messages from the terminal when Shutter does not want to
start...

Bye
Mario
