How to Direct Print a screen/window withOUT saving?

Asked by art

How do I quickly and easily Direct Print a screen / windown withOUT saving as png, jpg, etc.?

The old Windows PrintKey 2000 program had options that when "PrintScreen" button is pressed--the screen is printed and the Printkey window closes with no other interventions or steps required. (There are also options that allow cursor selection of print area, copy to clipboard, save, and such.) It is a great little program, but alas doesn't work in Linux.

To do the same thing In Shutter, I find that I must :
                                                       1- Press PrintScreen
                                                       2-minimize current windows
3-locate file on desktop (or wherever it saves)
                                                       4-open file
                                                       5-select print parameters
                                                       6-Print
                                                       7-close shutter windows
8-once again locate file on desktop in order to delete the saved pics.

There's got to be a better way. What am I missing ???

Thanks
