Capturing a web site with GScrot 0.62

Asked by Olivier

Hi all,

With version 0.40, capturing a web site worked fine. I just installed version 0.62 after removing 0.40 and it doesn't work anymore.

Am I alone to have this issue ? How could I fix it ?

I am under Ubuntu 8.04 LTS under i586

Regards,

Olivier

Hi Olivier,

i cannot reproduce your problem here (tested with latest intrepid and gutsy). Maybe it is a problem of updating from 0.40 to 0.62. It should not be a problem at all because the package manager should handle all needed dependencies.

Nevertheless, GScrot is using "gnome-web-photo" to capture web sites. Please check if it is installed, e.g. open a terminal and enter "sudo apt-get install gnome-web-photo".

If everything seems all right and capturing web sites does not work at all please start gscrot with --debug option and pipe the output into a file - open a terminal and enter:
gscrot --debug > gscrot.debug

Then try to capture a web site again and attach the gscrot.debug file here (an example web address as well please).

Hope it helps,
Mario

Mario,

Thanks a lot your quick answer.

I used your recommandation : sudo apt-get install gnome-web-photo even though it was already installed. By doing that, a message suggested me to use sudo apt-get autoremove to delete two packages. scrot + another lib. (sorry I am not sure about the name of the second package).

After doing that, capturing a web site worked perfectly.

Congratulations for your work.

Olivier
