Keybinding problem

Asked by Elaine Normandy

Keybindings are not working for me. I am guessing that this is due my using Compiz Fusion. I am using Hardy Heron on an AMD-64 machine.

Please check your advanced compiz settings. It should look like this (Backend=GConf):

Metacity Keybindings are configured in GConf and Compiz should adopt this settings if configured properly.

The image above is missing, do you have it available to repost?

Also, can you explain the purpose of the drop-down menu containing ['Selection', 'Window', 'Section']? Does this influence the behavior of the 'Capture' and/or 'Capture with selection' keybinding?

Thank you for the great tool, I'm happy to replace FastStone Capture running in wine with Shutter.

Here it is: http://www.ubuntu-pics.de/bild/10862/screenshot_100_522__0qQ9N4.png

To get here, System ▸ Preferences ▸ CompizConfig Settings Manager ▸ Preferences

Drop-down menu by 'Selection' selects the selection type - simple, where you select an area you'd like to capture just once (as soon as you let go, it makes the screenshot), and also have a zoom-window to assist you in being pixel-perfect. Advanced allows you to select an area, resize it however you'd like, and then press Enter to capture it.

Drop-down menu by 'Fullscreen' select which viewport / cube edge / workspace to capture. Shutter will switch to that viewport, capture, and then go back to your original screen.

Drop-down menu by 'Window' allows you to select a window to capture - so you don't need to try and get the dimensions correct yourself.

And as for web, that just sets the timeout - how long should shutter wait for the download of the page.

Hope that helps.
