Can a editor be inserted on GScrot?

Asked by Marcos A.T. Silva

Hi,

I just discovered GScrot and I am loving it. :)

So, I would like to know if is there the possibility of insert an "editor" on the tool, so that users can edit the captured images, inserting, for example, arrows and text on it.

Is this possible?

Best Regards.

There is already an integrated drawing tool. It is the top right button in your current tab ( look here: http://www.ubuntu-pics.de/bild/2198/screenshot452x50502B5JJK.png ).

Currently it is only possible to add "free-hand"-drawings to your screenhots, but more objects (symbols, rectangulars, text etc.) are definitely planned for future releases. So, please stay tuned...

Edit: Another possibility is to configure GScrot to open screenshots with gimp and use gimp to manipulate your files.

Cheers

Hi,

I think you have received a pingback. :) Glad to hear that you like the review.

Mario, is it possible to translate GScrot to portuguese? If so, how can we do this?

Regards.

Oh, portuguese! Sorry for noticing your blog as spanish ;-)

You can just start here to translate GScrot to Portuguese: https://translations.launchpad.net/gscrot

Thanks! Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Hi Mario,

Don't worry. :)

So, can I translate directly on the above mentioned page?

Can I use the "suggestions" or the "new translation" option, and "save and continue" to the next "set of strings"?

And, can the job be started by the point where I finish in the last time I worked on it?

Regards.

1. yes, just choose your language and start
2. you can use a suggestion (it will be copied to the "new translation" field) and activate it or you enter a completely new translation --- it is up to you ;-)
3. yes, you do not have to do it all at once

Just test it...there should be nothing you can do wrong. at the moment you should be the only one editing portuguese.

Nice, thank you very much for your effort. I need to package gscrot again and include your translation.

I will let you know when there is a new version available with your translation. (1-2 days)
