Asked by John Harrington

I have downloaded and installed gscrot ver. 0.36~ppa for Ubuntu Hardy from http://ppa.launchpad.net/mario-kemper/ubuntu. Previously an earlier version worked on Gutsy. When I try to run this version for Hardy I get this error message:

Can't locate Image/Magick.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.8 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /usr/bin/gscrot.pl line 26.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/gscrot.pl line 26.

Can you help me fix this? Thanks.

Hello John,

the version you've installed is not stable and just for my personal testing purpose. Official versions can be found at the GScrot Team PPA https://launchpad.net/~gscrot/+archive.

Nevertheless, thank you for your response. There is just a dependency missing, that should normally be installed automatically.

The following command should do the trick:
sudo apt-get install perlmagick

Thank you for your interest in our software. I've already added the needed library to the debian/control file for further versions that will be released (i hope the next stable release 0.36 in a few days ;-) ).

Bye
