HiDPI erratic behavior when using selection mode

Asked by Chris Crisafulli

Information about my current setup on the device where I'm trying to use shutter:

Lenovo YOGA 900-13ISK
Fedora 23 (Workstation Edition)
3200 X 1800 (16:9)

I am trying to use the shutter tool to make documentation and notes for myself, on my current configuration, I have come to rely on using the selection mode which doesn't consistently work with my current configuration.

I open shutter, whenever I have a need to capture something, and go and hit the selection mode. I would like to be able grab sections of the screen that are showing details that I would like to capture without having to change my resolution or full screen capture (which would require additional editing time).

When I open shutter, and attempt to use the selection mode everything on screen disappears (while the selection mode is engaged) only the background displays, all other windows disappear. I can still select and grab a screen shot of the background and it will allow a capture of only the background. The desktop returns to normal (displaying all of the items that where missing during the selection mode).

I think it should just work as normal when someone is using higher DPI.

If I do switch my resolution to 1920 X 1080 16:9 it seems to work like normal.

Thank you for an excellent application and your support!

I have rebuilt the system, and there's a good possibility it was my configuration, as it seems to be working fine now.
