preferences upload section unclear how to (not) use

In the "Preferences" menu I see "Upload" and several sites ticked there.
It's unclear to me how/what this all is for, so I don't want to use it - especially since it says something about "Anonymous uploads".
I don't want to upload *anything*, not even anonymously.

I can't untick any of these sites though (OS is LinuxMint 17.3 Cinnamon, shutter version is 0.90.1)
Please explain how I can do this, *or* explain to me how the upload stuff works.
