Can I turn off the icon?

I'd like to remove the panel icon completely, as I only use shutter (at the moment) as a screen grab tool, which I have mapped to a hot key, so I'd like to de-clutter my panel icons as much as possible.

I can't find an option (and I screwed up my panels config trying to do it another way :P ) so is there an option, and if not, could there be? The boot options leave me with no shutter icon *until* I use it, but then it doesn't go away when I close it either...
