Can I use the editor without launching the entire app?

I really like Shutter. Great work! One thing I find is that I love how simple the editor is. As much as I love GIMP and Inkscape if all I want to do is add an arrow, it is amazing how hard it is to do there, vs how simple it is to do with Shutter.

Now that I know how great the shutter editor is I find myself wanting to use it on things other than screenshots. I can of course right click on the file and open it in Shutter. And that works, but then it opens it up in the main program and I need to click again to open it up in the editor. That works fine but is there a way for me just to open the file up in the editor directly?
