Feature Request - Mouse Over behavior for Shutter's Editor isn't dynamic
Description: Using Shutter's Editor, it takes some Locate-Navigation effort and atleast 4 clicks to simply draw and move/resize an object, because the mouse-over behavior isn't dynamic enough to behave realizing it's hover-position.
Repro Steps:
1) Take a new screenshot using Shutter (full window or selected-area..any thing is fine as long as it accepts an arrow object to be drawn on it)
2) Ensure you are on the Shutter's default image Editor that comes along with Shutter's installation.
Current/Observed behavior as of today to draw and move/resize an arrow:
1) Locate and navigate to the Black arrow-icon on left-toolbar
2) Click 1 - Click on the Black arrow-icon on left-toolbar
3) Click 2 - Draw an arrow on the screenshot.
4) Go back and locate-navigate to the Object-Picker (white-arrow) icon located at the top of the left-toolbar.
5) Click 3 - Now click on this Object Picker white arrow icon.
6) Click 4 - Go back to the picture and click on the arrow drawn on the screenshot, at step3 above. Now the arrow shifts into a move/resize mode revealing the placeholders.
7) Click 5 - Using these Arrow(Object) place holders, you can click any of them to move/resize it.
Note: Here, the mouse isn't dynamic enough to realize that it is with in the area of the black-arrow placeholders and still behaves in a black-arrow context as opposed to object-picker context because it's designed to be in the context of whatever tool that's last invoked, with the last invoked tool here being the black-arrow.
Requested behavior to draw and move/resize an arrow:
1) Locate and navigate to the Black arrow-icon on left-toolbar
2) Click 1 - Click on the Black arrow-icon on left-toolbar
3) Click 2 - Draw an arrow on the screenshot.
4) Click 3 - Click on the arrow drawn on the screenshot, at step 3 above. Now the arrow shifts into a move/resize mode revealing the placeholders.
5) Click 4 - Using these Arrow(Object) place holders, you can click any of them to move/resize it.
Note: Here, the mouse is dynamic enough to realize that it is with in the area of the black-arrow placeholders and behaves in a White-arrow/
Effort Saved:
1) Locate-Navigate the object-
2) An additional click on object-
I understand that there could be users who prefer the observed-behavior and I would suggest, if audience preferes, this feature to be an optional-
My request - If what am requesting for is a huge work, can I override this observed behavior using my own extension/addin to get the requested behavior in place?
Thanks
