select the final image size

Asked by Julien C.

Hi,

very good app, but I don't know if we can choose the size of the final image.

For example, if I want to take a screenshot in 800x600 with an end result in 400x300.
It seems to not be possible directly. and When you edit the image you can't resize the image or better, crop the image with a predefinied size (not size of the selection), like the crop in photoshop.

Sorry for my bad english...

Shutter v0.87 comes with a new feature which is auto resize. Auto resize function resizes the selection automatically to your values. Please watch the video from the following link.

http://www.unixmen.com/software/1507-shutter-087-is-released

If it solves your question, you can install the new version from shutter ppa with the following way;

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:shutter/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install shutter

Hope this helps...

I've seen this option but I don't want to take a screenshot of a complete window, just a selection.

regards.

There is a resize plugin, see:

Unfortunately it is not possible to run plugins automatically yet, but this is planned.

ok, It will do the trick for the moment but it will be great to have this option when you use the selection tool (to keep the good ratio of the selection)

Thanks.
Julien.
