Suggestion, Shutter should arrange screen-shot names by the name of the taken window/application, like gnome 'take screen shot'.

Asked by XFACT on 2010-02-12

In normal Shutter program when we take one screen-shot, then it saves as 'screenshot_000.png' serially, but it would be batter if it saves as the name of taken screen/application/window. For example if I am taking snapshot of 'pidgin' window, it should save the screen shot as 'pdgin_window.png/pidgin.png/pidgin_shot.png' etc. (Just like GNOME 'take Screen Shot'!)

It helps to maintain/arrange taken photos batter!

If this facility is already available then please tell me the process to enable it, or if not then please add this feature in next release :)

This feature is already available since Shutter 0.85, see:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/shutter/+bug/328663

You have to use the wildcard $name in Shutter's preferences. See this
example:

Does this solve your problem?
