How do I turn off the phishing alert?

Asked by David L. Brown

Seamonkey's "scam alert" notice, meant to warn of potential phishing attempts, does not "learn", like the spam filter, and renders repeated false positives. I either would like for it to be manageable like the spam filter or turn it off.
Thanks
David Brown

Open a browser window and enter about:config in the address bar.
Scroll down, or use the filter, until you find the preference name mail.phishing.detection.enabled, which will probably be set to status:default, type:boolean, value:true.
Double-click on it, it will change to bold with status:user set, type:boolean, value:false
You may need to restart SeaMonkey before the option is enabled.

A clear, straightforward, and effective solution. The false positive "scam" warnings have ceased--all scam warnings have ceased, which suits me fine.

I am suspecting that there are other tweaks I would apply to my Seamonkey suite if I knew about them. Is there a source of information, a manual, or instructions, on how to use and modify the about:config functions?

Thank you for the perfect solution.

Best regards,
David Brown

There's this :

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:_FAQs_:_About:config_Entries

to be honest, I only found it when I read your question and knowing about about:config I just had a quick search through the settings relevant to mail.
