Screenlets never opens

Asked by Bruce

Screenlets will not open. I have checked and have GNome, Python, etc. installed. I downloaded/installed the package from the source via the terminal - no go. I uninstalled completely and reinstalled via the Ubuntu repository/software program manager. I am still receiving the following error (if I launch from Applications > Accessories > Screenlets it comes up on the task bar as Starting Screenlets and the mouse cursor shows busy, then it just disappears. Running screenlets-manager or screenlets from the Terminal gives me:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/share/screenlets-manager/screenlets-manager.py", line 29, in <module>
    from screenlets import utils,install
ImportError: cannot import name install

I haven't been able to locate a fix for this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have installed screenlets version 0.0.12, running on a new install of Ubuntu 10.10 Gnome version 2.32.0

I have resolved this issue on my machine. I completely reinstalled Ubuntu and then installed Screenlets BEFORE applying ANY updates to Ubuntu. It is now working.
