Compatibility with Windows?

Asked by Aidan McKay

I'm a student who was working with Elementary due to ease of use and lightweight nature (old laptop) but have been forced to use Windows again due to course requirements - Any chance of opening or converting the notes I took in Scratch in a 'mainstream' text editor/ MS Word? Would rather not access notes on a LiveUSB OS and manually copy and paste the contents into another editor...

Any files created with Scratch should just be plain text files; that is, they should open fine in something like Atom, Sublime, or even Notepad. The one snag you might run into (particularly with Notepad) is that Windows expects files to be saved with Windows-style line endings instead of Unix line endings. You can read more about that potential issue (which is not Scratch- or elementary-specific) here: http://blog.codinghorror.com/the-great-newline-schism/

Can you help with this problem?
