Syntax highlightning and plugins like gEdit

Asked by Rune Jensen

I see now, you have Syntax Highlightning via right click. Can I have that option as a menu item instead in the icon menu on the top?
Somehow it doesn't feel intuitive setting programming language with a right click.

That's currently the only way to set a programming language. Normally, you shouldn't even have to set it yourself, as Scratch recognizes the programming language automatically. If you created a new file in scratch, save it with the correct file extension and the correct syntax highlighting will be applied. If you open an existing file, it will also apply the correct highlighting.

Many thanks for taking your time to answer.

It's a bit different thinking from gedit, I see that is the reason. But I can see the benefits,, and it shouldn't be a big problem getting used to it as is. I'm just happy there is syntax highlighting, I cannot live without.

PS. I have found a strange bug in Scratch, which I will report seperately, it has nothing to do with this.

Kind regards,
Rune Jensen
