Backup files

Scratch creates a backup file each time I open and edit a file even if the automatic save feature is disabled. How can I prevent it from doing this ?

You can set as false the property /org/pantheon/scratch/settings/make-backup. However a fix for the huge backup copies is planned to be implemented.

In future, can we have an option to disable it though preferences ?
