Gradebook has a cross linked work sheet and activity

Asked by Laurie Savage

I imported groups and courses from semester 1 into semester 2, 2009* and the grade book seems broken. A worksheet containing an activity that should only belong to one semester 2 course and its sections has attached itself to ALL my semester 2 sections and I cannot remove the activity or the worksheet from any semester 2 section.

The semester 1 gradebook is unaffected and the misbehaving worksheet/activity was created in the semester 2 gradebook for one course/section.

Is there a database repair tool buried in the system?

*The Australian school year runs February - December.

Sorry, I failed to reproduce the issue:
* I've created worksheets (with activities) in first term for a section, deployed a report worksheet report template for the full year, deployed a worksheet report template for the first term.
* The test teacher instructed two sections.
* Then I copied all sections to the second term. Only report worksheet templates deployed for the full year were visible in the second term.
* I created additional activities in all available worksheets in all terms for all sections. None displayed the behaviour you described - unless I missed something.

The only way I managed to re-create your scenario:
* Manage -> Report Sheet Templates -> New Worksheet
* navigate to year 2009 -> navigate to second term
* click Deploy Worksheet; it is assigned to all sections of the term - it is the correct (though not that obvious) behaviour of the system

Can you please check Manage -> Report Sheet Templates for the ill behaving worksheet?

I don't think Laurie is using report sheets at all.

Thanks, that solved most of my problem. I had looked at report templates
before deciding against using them because I didn't understand their
deployment. I must have created and deployed one by mistake.

I still have one activity I cannot delete from a worksheet. The check box
does not appear next to it in the Manage Activities screen.
