Student Address and Parent Data?

This has been implemented, just our documentation is lagging a bit. If you view a person, you should see a "Contacts" button at the top of the screen. This allows you to add parent contacts.

Let us know if you have other issues and what reports you need. What languages would you be using?

Is there the ability to search by contact? In playing with the system so far, it seems like the current contact details are limited. Is it possible to expand those? (I can generate a list of fields we're looking for in the next couple days) A simple thing, but is it possible to have email addresses be links? (mailto:....)

My understanding of the way the system works is that each "contact" needs to be in two places to be truly effective - once as a user and once as a contact. So a student would have a user account and a contact. So would each of his/her parent(s). This is the only way I can see having the depth of details we're wanting to enter.

As for reporting, we're looking for report cards and eventually transcripts. We're in the process now of rethinking and organizing our reporting formats, but I will be able to provide excel file templates of our reporting formats when they are done. (We are working on reducing the complexity of our report cards)

We would like to be able to store address data in two languages if possible - English and Japanese. (The Japanese would all fit on one line... Eventually we'd love it if we could click and link into Google Maps)

We do need to add a quick way to make a contact for the student him or herself. I've probably been thinking a little old fashioned in this -- even if kids don't have their own addresses, they do have their own emails now.

What additional data would you like to see for parent contacts?
