hi , i want o to know how i can reach the configuration file of school tools to try the devmode i am trying to improve this program on my school so i want to test it first can you send me the steps please.

If you're installing from the packages it is at /etc/schooltool/schooltool-2008/main.conf

Or schooltool-2009 as the case may be.
