Upgrading from 2.6.4 to 2.8.4

Hello, i have installed schooltool and the version is 2.6.4 but i have followed all the instructions of trying to upgrade to 2.8.4 but all in vain. my ubuntu is 16.04 LTS. any help is appreciated.
