We have some examples in code where we've done this for different schools we can point out if you're interested. We intend on re-doing the person attributes prior to the 1.0 release in April, so please let us know what you need and perhaps we'll just be able to add it to the default person.

Also, we plan on adding some customizable text fields which might also help you out.
