Successes so far, and two questions!

Asked by Brian Lockwood

I have successfully imported courses persons and section. (A V large number of them). I have replicated the timetable we ran last year in our school. Good progress.

When I log in as a person I see their teaching groups at the Left hand side but not in their schedule.

Should I see the lessons in their Calendar lesson slots?

Also, for this exercise, I used their Unique Pupil Number as an ID which ends up as their log in id, I would like to have single sign on and authenticate via LDAP. Is this on the stocks?

Mmm, so far as I can tell, I should be able to see populated calendar events for any student if I log in as them.

Brian,

You should see events for when classes meet if you have created terms, timetables, sections, scheduled sections, and assigned students to sections.

We've got development code for both LDAP and CAS single sign (which can use LDAP) on for authentication. An ambitious user such as yourself would be helpful in getting it ready for end-user deployment. Anyhow, the code is here: https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~schooltool-owners/schooltool/schooltool.ldap

We'll probably need some advice from Ignas if you really want to get it working -- overall this isn't a short term priority for us, but something we'll probably give some love say, next spring.

Ah, another Oops, I had put the term dates in for summer and when i moved my target student to those dates I found a populated calendar.

Is putting the plugin in, a straightfroward task?

My Moodle site uses ldap so I am used to setting ou and cn= and studd like
that and I have a working bind user.

I know ignas is busy, but a starter would be useful.
