SchoolTool is written in Python, with some C extensions in the underlying libraries. Once the C extensions are compiled, which is a bit of a pain on Windows but not too bad, SchoolTool will run on any platform that Python does.

We have in the past provided Mac, Windows and Red Hat packages, and, aside from being time consuming, the real problem is our not really understanding how services are handled on Mac and Windows, which makes it difficult to provide any assurance that they will actually work reliably. Our Mac port also was plagued by weird performance issues we could never sort out, but seemed to be based on the underlying Python implementation.

Can you help with this problem?
