Email function - Report Cards

Is there a way currently or can it be added to future functionality for:
Capability of using mailman or similar mass mailer for sending report cards via email to parents email address (obviously would need the parent email in the students data).
For U.S, Transcripts are the only document which requires to be in physical form, having an ability to email pdf report cards would save significant cost of postage and labor hours in mailing out report cards.

OR how are others handling this, if there is a current workaround for this.

If this functionality would save a significant amount of money, perhaps you could consider funding its development. There are a variety of ways it could be done, including just exporting the cards individually to a folder organized in such a way that an external script could handle the emailing.

Although significant to this specific school(online school charging very little per student) I support, but I wouldn't say significant on its own to fund a development effort.
70 students at an estimate cost of $1.50 per report card $6 per year per student with quarterly report cards.
Comes out to $420 benefit over 1 year, really not enough to support a development effort.

So, I will probably end up writing some simple code to facilitate, thanks for the pointers.
