Skill and Outcome Based Assessment as primary function?

Asked by Admin61 on 2014-12-25

I'd like to use this software as a tool for tracking student progress for specific tasks.

Our school is not a primary school. We are an object based training program with one on one instruction. But we might have 100 students enrolled at a time. But each student and instructor action is one on one with occasional classes involving other students.

Student does A, B, C, and D to earn a certificate. In most cases the student and instructor set their own schedule. We don't follow a semester or quarter schedule though. It changes every day. One day a lesson could start at 8am and run till 10am another day a lesson could run all day.

Can this tool be used for this sort of achievement based tracking?

Basically, you can just ignore the scheduling parts of the application. Exactly how you might want to set up courses and sections for a school with your structure would depend on the specifics -- but essentially each instructor could have a section including all the students they work with, and do the evaluation through CanDo, even though the "section" doesn't actually meet at the same time. Dealing with an irregular schedule is only tricky if you also want to do attendance.

Can you help with this problem?
