extensive comments reports

Asked by xris_xcess

Hi,

In our school hands out grades reports as well as written comments twice a year.

Where can i get teachers to write in these comments. I understand that you can add comments to grades or evaluations that have a grade, but what about just written comments.

The students get a written comment per subject (course) and and extra one from the headteacher (yeargroup).

Where could I add these?

Thanks

This is somewhat inadequately explained here: http://book.schooltool.org/report-sheet.html#defining-a-report-sheet-template

In a report sheet you can define a comment activity, which can then be added to the report sheet template (or a custom report card layout).

For the head teacher, you just might need to make a "section" that doesn't actually have a scheduled meeting time with all kids in the grade enrolled as pupils and with the appropriate teacher as instructor.

Ok. I added the comment activity and deployed the worksheet.

As a teacher I can see the worksheet but... when I select it I get a blank page!

I tried this as a manager/teacher and then tried with a regular teacher in a different section with the same result.

In the server errors i get:
------------------
Sat Sep 6 12:26:21 2014 unauthenticated, sb.person.username1, User 1,
KeyError: u'3.6.1/ckeditor/ckeditor.js'
-----------------

This with both the manager and the regular techer.

BTW, in using the install as a test server and just upgraded from 2.6 to 2.8 from the PPA, and I'm running 12.04

This error should have been fixed by this version of zope.html, the 2.8 ppa
has an even higher version.

zope.html (2.2.0-0ubuntu11) trusty; urgency=medium

  * debian/rules: Fix version of ckeditor (LP: #1306986)
  * debian/control:
    - Moved fckeditor to Recommends
    - Increase Standards Version to 3.9.25
  * debian/source/lintian-overrides: add to suppress source-is-missing
    warning.

Try restarting schooltool

  $ sudo service schooltool stop
  $ sudo service schooltool start

Ok.

Tried restarting, but same error.

Should I try a backup, purge, reinstall and reload?

Did a backup/remove/reinstall and now its working.

During the reinstall there was several MB of packages that where downloaded, I don't recall this during the simple upgrade.

I guess it's better to do a full re-install when switching to a mayor version.

Well, it *shouldn't* be necessary...
