How to migrate from 2.6.4 to 2.8?

Update *after* you add the repository.

I also tried that, but stops working schooltool.

I notice two things:

1. You are already running 2.8.1 (evolve44 was added in that release)
2. The database is being evolved. It means the service has not fully started yet (no clients can connect). This may take some time depending on how big your database is (how many students, sections, etc you have).

So, my advice is to give it some time and check the error.log file a little later looking for tracebacks.
