demographics fields and rights

Hi,
I wanted some new demographics fields in the student records to be accessible to admin. I set up the fields and gave the limit to admin, then It didn't show in the student demographics. I swapped the limit to be students and I could put it in. Now however imported, I cant access the demographic data from admin?
Should I Have no limits on the extra ones while importing, then place the limits back on? It might be tedious ?
This seems associated with my recent failure bug in downloading reports?

I have put "Persons" on the import, it helped,
Have also taken all limits from the demographics and it uploads
problem resolved for now, apologies,

Demographic fields limits do not restrict permissions – they only tell what kind of users this field is applicable to. If you want a field only for students, choose Students.

Imports should work whatever limits or fields are there, but apparently there was some problem displaying the persons? Without an error we cannot tell what has gone wrong.
