I'd like to contribute to translating the website and docs. How can I do that?

Asked by Fabián Rodríguez

How can I help translating the website and docs to other languages. The current documentation / Launchpad only deal with the application.

We have branches for both in Launchpad.

You can get the website at:

https://code.launchpad.net/~replaceafill/schooltool/schooltool-homepage

It contains the English and Spanish versions.

You can get the book at:

https://code.launchpad.net/~schooltool-owners/schooltool-book/flourish

This is my (unfinished) Spanish translation for example:

https://code.launchpad.net/~replaceafill/schooltool-book/schooltool-book_es

I can upload your translations to the schooltool.org server anytime.

Could be more specific? I have limited time and I can only contribute to translating the home page in French and Haitian Creole. If you could provide the complete procedure that would help a lot. Meanwhile I am installing bzr but limited bandwidth and time will determine how much I can do (I am in Haiti at the moment).

Now realizing the site is hard-coded, the convention to link to translated pages should be <filename>.<ISO language code> - for example features.html.fr for French. This should also be indicated in the translation page.

I've completed the translation of the home page to French but have no idea how to submit it. I don't have time to research this, hopefully someone can indicate what are the steps.

Just send the pages to <email address hidden> and we'll get them up.

Can you help with this problem?
