I'm having Schooltool 2.0.x installed[0] and now want to update it to the newer version (2.1.0). How to do that manually?

Thanks in advance.

Just let us package it for you. It should be ready next week.

For RPM?

*That will be awesome!*

Oh no, just Ubuntu .debs. OLE Nepal handled the .rpm's, and I think they're focused on other things right now.

How did you install in the first place?

If I'm not mistaken, Andi downloaded the 2.0 tar.gz file and ran 'make run' in OpenSUSE.

Andi, I recommend you to:

- Download the 2.1 tar.gz from https://launchpad.net/schooltool (https://launchpad.net/schooltool/flourish/2.1.0/+download/schooltool-2.1.0.tar.gz)
- Extract it to a new directory so you don't mess with your existing 2.0 installation
- Install the python-virtualenv RPM
- Run 'make instance'
- Copy your old 2.0 instance/var/Data.fs file to your new 2.1 instance/var directory

You may have trouble with the PDF support again because 2.1 uses the Ubuntu font family in a specific way for Oneiric and Precise.

Is that preferable to using buildout?

It actually uses buildout. It's (like) a dev sandbox.

Can you help with this problem?
