Multi-school single sign-on, reports and inter school student/staff transfers

Asked by Michael Gee

Hi,
I'm a consultant implementing a SIS in a country in the developing world/emerging markets. I've been reviewing SchoolTool for implementation but need to know if and how the system can be used to manage a district of schools beyond just hosting multiple schools on a single Ubuntu server, ie to allow for Multi-school single sign-on, district level reports and student/staff transfers between schools. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Essentially, no. It probably wouldn't make sense to do this via expanding SchoolTool itself, but rather through creating a separate application at the district level that interacted with individual SchoolTools.

With our current funding stream and development schedule, there are no plans to do this. As SchoolTool grows I would like to find funding to develop a district application -- or interact with an existing one -- but there are no firm plans at this time.

Can you help with this problem?
