Teaching Levels?

I noticed in 1.6 when logged as an admin under a school year there is a new listing at the bottom called "Teaching levels." I can't seem to find any documentation as to what this does or how to use it. What does this entry do and how do I use it?

At the moment it does very little. This essentially means "grade level" (yes it should have said that all along). We're cleaning it up a bit for the October release.
