Can resources (classroom) be automatically associated with course sections?

Asked by Bill

Hello all,

In SchoolTool 1.6, when a section of a course is viewed, there are 3 sections for additional information: resources, instructors and students. Instructors and students both have an edit link to attach new people, but resources does not. Did I miss a setting or something?

Is there a way to attach a resource to a course section so that both the course section and resource automatically appear together in the calendar?

Thanks,

Bill Clark

That is, I'm afraid, a loose end at this point. You used to be able to add resources, and hopefully you will be able to again.

Hi Tom,

Looks like this could be related to this blueprint: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/schooltool/+spec/timetabling-in-flux which has been rattling around for a while, so maybe it'll come up someday.

Thank you for the reply,

Bill

Hi Bill,

Yes, both of your questions are related to the timetable re-write, which actually is mostly ready for testing and in a development branch. The new timetables will be in our October release. If you are looking for something to use in the fall, perhaps you can help us with that testing.

If you're in the US, I'd be happy to talk by phone, or if you're elsewhere, we could chat on Skype, IRC, etc.

Hi Tom,

That's good to know.

It would be good to talk-- I am interested in testing and have some questions about the project that you might be able to answer as well.

This coming week is exam week for us and things are busy. Perhaps we can talk about it when that is all over.

Thank you,

Bill
