Is there a plan for supporting uncompressed backups in the future?

Asked by Ben J Woodcroft

Be cool because gzip takes a long time, and I've read that it will for the foreseeable future remain single-process.

Thanks,
ben

Have a look at the forked project NSsbackup. This contains many of the features requested for sbackup so far - including uncompressed backups. AFAIY sbackup is only bugfixed in the future. I hope this information is useful for you.

Regards.

The projects SBackup and nssbackup are finally re-merged. The latest release of Simple Backup (sbackup) 0.11 does support uncompressed backups now.

Do you guys know if it is possible to set compression to none on older versions somehow?
Also what is the way to install the latest version in an older ubuntu 8.04?
I need to get copression turned off somehow.

Thanks
