Can't connect! Using a proxy.

I'm having this error:

 OS: Linux
 Application: Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.14 (2008040414)

Can't create an account and can't connect. Working behind a proxy that uses the port 8080 on firefox, necessary to access the internet here at work. Is there a way to use sameplace with a proxy?

Those errors are actually harmless (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/sameplace/+bug/231723), and HTTP proxies with SSL Connect are supported. The log might tell us more -- you can save it with help menu -> save XMPP log; send it to hyperstruct [at] gmail.com if you prefer not to post it here (passwords are hidden anyway).

I'm sorry but coulnd't find the "save XMPP log" option on the help menu. Where is it located? Maybe its a different version you're using.

Thanks for your help

You are right, sorry, it's in the development version (downloadable from http://www.sameplace.cc/download).

I've saved it, but nothing is in the file. I did it after trying to connect. Have I done anything wrong? Only errors are shown on the log?

The log should contain the full transcript. If it's empty, connection doesn't even get to the point of negotiating proxy, it seems. :-(

What Jabber server/port are you trying to connect to? Proxies rarely allow the 5223, make sure your Jabber server listens on the 443 port and configure your account accordingly. (Both sameplace.cc and talk.google.com do.)

Tried with both 5223 and 443 and every service on the list, still can't do it. It's probably blocked somehow...

Thanks for your help!
