message notification

Asked by mackeev

Well, I'm registered with GTalk and my status is online, but I keep Sameplace sidebar hidden in FF. If my contact sees me online and strikes a conversation, how will I find out (s)he does? Is there any visual or sound notification? For me, it's a crucial question for using Sameplace add-on.

1) If you received message with hidden SamePlace sidebar, then SamePlace's icon on Firefox' toolbar (near Back/Forward/Reload/Stop/Home buttons) will change on icon with chat bubble.
2) You also may install "Sound Notification" scriptlet ( http://sameplace.cc/addons/scriptlets ) and every time (even with open sidebar), when you receives message, you 'll hear it.

Goodluck! ;)

Thank you for a very prompt answer. I hope activity.js will solve my problem, since I hate seeing any extra bars in FF (except menu and status bars). I'll try it out right away.
