How to add contacts in Sameplace

I've tried to add a number of contacts in Sameplace but they never get notified and I always have to ask them add me instead. Do I just type (for example) <email address hidden> in the contact box or do I need to do something else?

For contacts on Jabber servers (such as sameplace.cc, gmail.com, jabber.org) simply enter <email address hidden>. Example: <email address hidden>

For AIM contacts, enter <email address hidden>. Example for screen name "mary": <email address hidden>

For ICQ contacts, enter <email address hidden> (yes, the AIM transports handles ICQ too). Example for UIN 1234567: <email address hidden>

For MSN contacts, enter <email address hidden>, replacing the "@" in the email with a "%". Example for email "<email address hidden>": sam%<email address hidden>

(Future versions will have a menu to select the contact's network and enter his/her name in a friendlier way.)

Click on the People tab, then select Add contact which bring up another box and type the persons address in the contact part and click ok

Thats should do it.
