Why the need for importing?

I don't understand the need to take screenshots and them import them in. Why can't the interface update for them as they're taken?

Very good point. Anton Kerezov also asked this (via email) yesterday. The two separate steps are more legacy than anything else, from when it was envisaged that people could put their own images in the screenshots folder for import. However, that's not really required any more so I think you guys are right and it would definitely make more sense to have the screenshot automatically added to the open project as it's taken.

Just created a Blueprint for this, so it gets done (for the release after Alpha 6):
