Terminal Wraparound Issue

Asked by Bryan O

When entering a long text line in the Sakura terminal, the line wraps around without performing a carriage return (i.e. it returns to the beginning of the line and overwrites). Is there a fix for this such that the cursor and input go to the next line? (This is also the case with my gnome-terminal.)

I've checked it with the current version and it wraps around. What sakura and vte version are you using?

I don't know which version of Sakura or vte I have although the I just downloaded Sakura two days ago. If you know of an environment variable or some other way to check for either and can get that info to you. One thing I did notice, is that every terminal program (gnome-terminal, sakura, xfce4-terminal) does the same thing. Could this be an X-windows thing?
