savanna.conf

Asked by Savanna

Hi,

1. Today I opened my savanna.conf file and found that there is no DEBUG parameter in my savanna.conf file(in many savanna.conf files on net I have seen DEBUG option set to TRUE/FALSE )

2. I cannot see the logs for my VM instances in the Horizon UI.(all my instaces are active and running though my cluster remains in waiting state).

3. Is this related to DEBUG parameter in savanna.conf file?(if I set the DEBUG value to TRUE is there any chance that I can see my instances logs) ?

Thank you

1. I would expect you to have '#debug=false' in your /etc/savanna/savanna.conf file, it's commented out and shows its default. If you do not, you can always add it yourself.

2. There is no log integration with the Horizon UI. You should look at the savanna log (/var/log/savanna/api.log).

3. No. The debug parameter simply controls how verbose savanna-api is into its log file (/var/log/savanna/api.log).

2. If I understand the second question correctly, you mean _instance_ logs in Horizon. That depends on the image you use: some images do not redirect their output by supplying proper kernel parameters. Just try using other images, say Ubuntu Cloud images with the Vanilla plugin.
