Statistics of ubuntu-docs not being updated

Asked by David Planella

One of our team members has noticed the following:

* After successfully uploading a completed translation of the 'musicvideophotos' package in ubuntu-docs, the statistics [1] show that there are 69 untranslated strings. However, clicking on the untranslated string count [2] shows that there are no untranslated strings left.

It might be a matter of the statistics not getting refreshed.

Regards,
David.

The translations statistics for Ubuntu packages are only updated once a day. This is necessary because of the sheer volume of data involved. It might be possible to optimize the procedure but resource constraints make it unlikely we'll get to it anytime soon.

Which is not entirely true. Individual POFile statistics are updated at the end of import as well, just like they are updated with every "Save & Continue" action through web UI.

This sounds more related to replication issue, than anything else.

I think it might be an issue, as I see that the statistics have still not been updated after 3 days.

Should I fill a bug, or is it something trivial to fix?

If they've not been updated for 3 days, then it's clearly not a replication issue. Please file a bug.

This may be related in some way to the mysterious, exceptional replication lag that was noted on April 15th and the question from Moritz Baumann about his translations having turned into suggestions. We still don't know for certain what caused that.

David, do you see any sign of ubuntu-docs data having been mass-reverted or going missing?

With message sharing code and a modified (and improved) pofile.updateStatistics(), it seems statistics are correct again.

Thanks Данило Шеган, that solved my question.

Sorry, I forgot to answer Jeroen's question: "David, do you see any sign of ubuntu-docs data having been mass-reverted or going missing?" -> I did not notice any changes in this respect, only the statistics not being updated.

In any case, this is now solved.
