Rhythmbox Database Forced Recheck of ID Tags

Asked by thefinalrune

I've just recently made the switch from Windows to Ubuntu and so far I'm loving the better ease of use linux offers.

After importing my music library into Rhythmbox I noticed numerous errors in my mp3 ID tags, so I downloaded easyTAG to edit the information to imporve the database structure of my library. Both programs are working great, but I can't seem to get Rhythmbox to recheck the ID tags. I have it set to check for new songs when it opens, but apparently this won't make it recheck the ID tags.

Is there a console command I can use to make Rhythmbox recheck the tags?

Please can you mention how you "solved" this... did you just delete your library file?

I realized that I could simply edit the tags from with in RB. After which RB read them fine.

Could you give me a few more details, i can't seem to edit even the track info manually. All of my music was burnt with windows and all of the album info should be available.

I can't edit tags, when I do, they just change back to the original.
