How to connect

Asked by James Wylder

This may just be my own stupidity, but I have ubuntu one working on one of my computers but not the other.

kobol$ u1sdtool -c
kobol$ u1sdtool -s
State: READY
    connection: Not User With Network
    description: ready to connect
    is_connected: False
    is_error: False
    is_online: False
    queues: IDLE

I think I am missing the part where I connect my lauchpad account with my computer.

Let me add to this. I removed the existing computer from the account, rebooted and was able to connect and add my new computer.

But when I when I went back to my original computer, after selecting Manage Account from the Ubuntu one app, it does not take me to page to add a machine.

I assume that I get more than one machine per account?

Hi Jim,

Can you check to see if you have an "UbuntuOne" token in your keyring? You can do this by opening Applications->Accessories->Passwords and Encryption Keys, click on the arrow next to "Passwords: default" and then right click on the "UbuntuOne" token and select "Delete". Once you've done this, try opening System->Preferences->Ubuntu One and you should be prompted to add your computer to your account.

Thank you,

Joshua

Same here, even though this box was never added. And nothing with "UbuntuOne" in that list.
