I didn't publish it to 12.04 initially because it needs Python 3 (which is not installed by default there), but it seems people still want this version, so copied it now. Should be available now.

many tks for your quick respones, do u think you could keep both 3.1.4 and 4.0.1 for precise?

i tried to install, but it prompted me a break of dependency, the version of python3 your software require is higher than that natively supported by precise, i couldn't find a safe ppa for the requested version of python3 either.

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 retext : Depends: python3 (>= 3.2.3-3~) but 3.2.3-0ubuntu1 is to be installed
          Depends: python3-markups but it is not going to be installed
          Recommends: python3-enchant but it is not going to be installed

I tried uninstalling and reinstsalling retext and I get the following error. I fiddled around in Synaptic and I think it's looking for the wrong version of python3-markups. The version in the 12.04 repos is 0.2.4-1. Or am I doing soemthing wrong?

user@machine:~$ sudo apt-get install retext
[sudo] password for user:

@d❤vid seaward (kwill): oops, I fixed retext but didn't fix pymarkups which is needed for retext. Now it is also fixed (I hope).

That worked, I can now install and launch ReText 4.0.1 on Ubuntu 12.04. Thanks!
