Unable to install rescuetime on ubuntu operating system...help

Asked by Jason on 2009-04-17

I successfully downloaded 'rescuetime-linux-uploader-93.tar.bz2 (md5 , sig) ' from launchpad.net.
I unzipped the file and read the README file. which states: 'Open the firefox_extension/rescuetime_exporter.xpi file in Firefox, and follow the instructions within Firefox to install it.' I am using a firefox browser.

The file 'rescuetime_exporter.xpi' is not exist where the README says it is. so i cannot run it on firefox......I've heard that apparenlty ubuntu does not support rescuetime. would really appreaciate some feedback.

Regards.

I just built the package using pbuilder and then just clicked on it to install. None of the GUI stuff showed up, but it seems to be tracking my activity pretty well in the command line.... It's not ideal, but it seems that rescuetime will work on Ubuntu...in some capacity.

If the friendly folks at RescueTime contributed to the linux support I'd be them a check every month.

Can you help with this problem?
