RescueTime installed on ubuntu 11.10 and launched, but can't activated

Asked by emma zhang

hi,

I installed python setuptools and then was able to build and install rescuetime with ubuntu 11.10. then I created soft links from /usr/local/bin/rescue* to /usr/bin

I was also able to launch rescuetime and successfully log in. Then the program is running and I think it's correctly recognizing what I'm doing by printing out all the information of the websites I'm browsing.

since I installed rescuetime dashboard with chrome, I try to see my data in chrome but the website keeps telling me that my app was not activated.

Please help! Thanks!

emma

You have to wait untill the first data has been uploaded. I did this by changing "upload interval minutes" to 1
in ~/.rescuetime/preferences. As soon as it uploaded information once, the rescuetime website registers your pc as being activated.
