how to use it?

Hy, can someone explain me how to use it?

I want to help my friends with new ubuntu systems and this tool loks nice.
BUt when I use the option "connect to" the next step is a blank page.
If I use allow someonelese to accces your desktop I get next page but after the next click I get lots of letters like a menu and nothing else.

(using Ubutu 8.10 ibex)

Hi,

This sounds like a pair of bugs in the assistant.

"Connect to" should display a page with instructions in it. Could you run the assistant up to this point, then file a bug report with your ~/.remote_help/send_with_bug_report.txt file, so I can (try to) fix it?

When you allow someone else to access the desktop, does it look like this:

If so, I think you're seeing a cousin of bug #260872 - could you file a bug report with a screenshot of the problem? (include both files in the same report if you prefer).

I'll do it later, the py file is now on my usb stick which isn't here,
and we've got now 22:00 here in central Europe.

So don't expect a reply before monday.
BUt I can say you the 2nd error looks exaktly like your screenshot.
